# How Mystery Boxes Work

### What's in the box?

Every Baobun mystery box contains a real product. When you open a box, you get an item from the collection. Your item goes straight into your inventory. From the reveal screen, you can ship it to your home or sell it back for instant credit. See After Your Reveal for what happens next.

Every product on Baobun is genuine. If an item isn't authentic, we'll refund its market value at the time of reveal and any shipping fees you paid for it.

### How to open a box

1. Pick a box and tap the info icon to see every item and its reveal chance
2. Hit Buy and pay with your wallet balance or card
3. Watch your reveal and decide: ship it home or sell it back

### Rarity and Reveal Chances

Each collection has its own set of rarity tiers with different reveal chances. Before you buy, you can see every tier and its exact reveal chance on the box page. Nothing is hidden.

### Fair and transparent

We take fairness seriously. Here's how it works:

* The exact reveal chance for every rarity tier is displayed on the box page before you buy. What you see is what the system uses.
* Reveal chances are the same for every user, every time. No dynamic adjustments.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://baobun.gitbook.io/help/getting-started/how-blind-boxes-work.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
